Emergency Dentist in San Bernardino

Call the office first. Most dental emergencies are handled faster and cheaper in a dental chair than in an emergency room.

What you need to know

We hold time in the schedule for dental emergencies. If you are in pain, call rather than filling out a form — the phone gets you an answer the same day and a form does not.

An emergency room can manage pain and infection, but most of them cannot treat the tooth. If the problem is dental, coming here first usually means fewer visits and a smaller bill.

Did you know…

A knocked-out adult tooth can sometimes be replanted if you act quickly. Handle it by the crown, not the root, rinse it gently with milk or saline if it is dirty, and keep it moist — ideally back in the socket, otherwise in milk. Then call us immediately. The window is measured in an hour, not a day.

Call us for

  • Severe or persistent toothache
  • Chipped, cracked, or knocked-out tooth
  • Lost filling or crown
  • Abscess or swelling of the gums
  • Broken denture or appliance
  • Injury to the lips, tongue, or cheek

Frequently asked questions

When should I go to the emergency room instead?

Go to the emergency room or call 911 for facial swelling that affects your breathing or swallowing, bleeding that will not stop, or a suspected broken jaw. Those are medical emergencies before they are dental ones.

What if it happens after hours?

Call the office and follow the instructions on the message. For pain overnight, over-the-counter pain relief and a cold compress on the outside of the cheek will usually get you to morning.

Do you see emergency patients who are not already patients here?

Yes. Call and tell the front desk what happened and where it hurts.
